Supercent 2023 hypercasual game challenge

1. Object

  1. These Terms govern your participation in the Supercent Hypercasual Game Challenge (the "Competition") organized by Supercent. These Terms are a legally binding and enforceable agreement between Supercent and you, the mobile application developer (the "Participant"), and by participating in the Competition, the Participant agrees to be bound by all of the provisions below.



2. Participation conditions

  1. All participants must comply with the Competition Guidelines as defined in these Terms.
  2. Game submissions are open to participants with or without a contractual relationship with Supercent, but prize receipt is subject to the date of the publishing agreement between the participant and Supercent.
  3. To be eligible to participate in this competition, you must be at least 18 years of age. 
  4. If an individual or company is located in a blacklisted country established by OFAC or is considered a Specially Designated Nation by OFAC, they are not eligible to participate in this competition.
  5. Games submitted by participants must be hypercasual games with less than 1000 downloads as of the date of submission and must not have been tested by Supercent or any other publisher. 
  6. This competition is based on the Android operating system only. 
  7. Any game submitted after the announced submission date will be rejected.
  8. All games submitted to Supercent during the Supercent Challenge may not be released for testing to Supercent's competitors or self-published. 
  9. By submitting a game to the competition, entrants agree that Supercent reserves the right to first refuse to publish the submitted prototype or develop the submitted idea.
  10. To be eligible for the Virality Prizes, which will be specified below, Participants must create a new TikTok account, post a video of their game on this account, and submit a link to the post via a separate Typeform to enter the Competition. Existing TikTok accounts created prior to the start of the Competition will not be eligible to participate, and videos can only be uploaded after the entrant has submitted their game to the Supercent Game Challenge via the Typeform.In addition, to determine the winners of the Virality Prizes, entrants will be required to share the viewing results screen with Supercent via the Typeform. 
  11. We only recognize organic views of TikTok videos, not paid views, as the basis for Virality Prize selection. If views are manipulated by paid ads or other means, Supercent reserves the right to exclude the video from the selection process. 
  12. Virality Prizes can be stacked with other KPI Prizes and other prizes, and Virality Prizes are recovered from payouts of globally launched games just like any other prize.  



3. Participation method

  1. Entry to this competition is via the type form link. 
  2. The announcement channel for this competition will be Discord, and a link will be posted on the event page. Participants are responsible for any disadvantages caused by not subscribing to the Discord channel of this competition or not checking the announcement.  
  3. Game submissions will officially open on March 20, 2023. 
  4. All participants must submit their games by April 7, 2023 at 23:59 using the methods announced on the Discord channel. 
  5. All participants will be able to post TikTok videos after submitting their developed game, and will have until April 21, 2023 to submit the video link and views in the typeform requested by Supercent.
  6. The results of the first round will be announced on April 11, 2023. 
  7. The Virality Prize winner will be announced in mid-May 2023.
  8. The final test results will be determined and announced to the participants by April 28, 2023. (The specific terms will be defined by the relevant publishing agreement signed or to be signed between the winner and Supercent).
  9. The above schedule is subject to change at Supercent's discretion.
  10. Supercent reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, extend or suspend the Offer in its sole discretion



4. Selection criteria and prizes

There will be two judging rounds to determine the winner, as shown below.

  1. Round 1 - Supercent Internal Review
    1. Once a Participant's game is submitted, Supercent will review it and may, in its sole discretion, select teams to advance to Round 2 for testing and participation in the Competition. The results for the teams advancing to Round 2 will be announced on April 11, 2023 via the Supercent Hypercasual Game Challenge Discord channel.

  2. Round 2 - Data-driven CPI Test 
    1. Games that advance to Round 2 will be tested for CPI for the "US" market.
    2. Once the second round winners are announced, participants will have 7 days to complete the SDK integration to run a full CPI test.
    3. Based on the test results, the final winner will be selected and announced by Supercent
    4. The games eligible for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes will be announced in late September, four months after the publishing deal with Supercent goes live.

  3. Based on the results of the test, the developer will receive an offer for a publishing contract with Supercent, and if the contract is finalized, the developer will be guaranteed the following rewards according to the terms of the contract.

    Top Prize - 1st Prize
    Participants are eligible for the grand prize if their game meets the following criteria. The prize breakdown is defined by the Supercent Publishing Agreement.
    i) The game has at least 8 million downloads on iOS in the U.S. within 4 months of the official launch date.
    ii) The First Prize Winner will receive a minimum guarantee of (US$2,000,000) between Supercent and the Winner pursuant to the Publishing Agreement already signed or to be signed.
    iii) The First Prize Award will be excluded from the overall revenue share payable to the Studio as a result of the exercise of Supercent's publishing option (detailed terms to be defined in the relevant Supercent Publishing Agreement).

    Top Prize - 2nd Prize
    Participants are eligible for the grand prize if their game meets the following criteria. The prize breakdown is defined by the Supercent Publishing Agreement.
    i) The game has at least 5 million downloads on iOS in the U.S. within 4 months of the official launch date.
    ii) The First Prize Winner will receive a minimum guarantee of (US$1,000,000) between Supercent and the Winner pursuant to the Publishing Agreement already signed or to be signed.
    iii) The First Prize Award will be excluded from the overall revenue share payable to the Studio as a result of the exercise of Supercent's publishing option (detailed terms to be defined in the relevant Supercent Publishing Agreement).

    Top Prize - 3rd Place
    Participants are eligible for the grand prize if their game meets the following criteria. The prize breakdown is defined by the Supercent Publishing Agreement.
    i) The game has at least 3 million downloads on iOS in the U.S. within 4 months of the official launch date.
    ii) The First Prize Winner will receive a Minimum Guarantee of (US$500,000) between Supercent and the Winner pursuant to the Publishing Agreement already signed or to be signed.
    iii) The First Prize Award will be excluded from the overall revenue share payable to the Studio as a result of the exercise of Supercent's publishing option (detailed terms to be defined in the relevant Supercent Publishing Agreement).

    All studios whose KPI Prize submissions meet the competition guidelines and sign a publishing agreement with Supercent will be paid a Minimum Guarantee (MG) in the amounts below based on their KPI results. The KPI Prize is guaranteed to be paid according to the publishing agreement that will already be signed between the participant and Supercent. Payments made as KPI Prizes will be excluded from the overall revenue share paid to the Studio as a result of the exercise of Supercent's publishing option (detailed contractual terms will be defined in the relevant Supercent Publishing Agreement).

             ▪︎  D1 Retention 30% or higher

    Virality Prize: A virality prize of US$3,000 will be awarded to one team that posts a video of their submitted game on TikTok and receives the most views on TikTok. Participants can post as many videos as they see fit. Supercent uses Typeform to collect view results after game submission.

  4. Participation in this competition means that Supercent may offer to publish your submitted game, even if you do not win a prize. If Supercent deems your game promising, we will contact you via your email and you may be able to enter a testing phase with Supercent even after the competition ends.

  5. By participating in this game competition, you agree not to offer to publish your game to any other publisher or third party other than Supercent for the entire duration of the competition and for a period of four (4) weeks after the end date of the competition. April 28, 2023, which means that Supercent may request that you enter the testing phase of your game and furthermore, Supercent has the option to enter into a publishing agreement with you on terms that imply a fair revenue share.

  6. In order to be eligible for the prizes set forth in this Agreement, Participants must sign a Publishing Agreement with Supercent, and the Game must have a successful global launch. All Participants who have signed the Publishing Agreement will be eligible to receive MG under the Publishing Agreement. Any prize money received by a Participant hereunder will be deducted from the Publishing Revenue Share as set forth in the Publishing Agreement. 



5. Representations and Warranties

By participating in the Supercent Hypercasual Game Challenge, Participant represents and warrants that,

  1. Participant is the valid, entire, and sole owner of the applicable Game that Participant submits to Supercent.
  2. The game submitted by the entrant does not copy any other game (including any game worked on prior to this competition) and more specifically any game or work of any third party, and does not abuse or infringe on the rights of any third party and/or the rights of Supercent's sponsors. 
  3. All information provided by you to Supercent in your entry is accurate and true.
  4. Do not submit games that contain defamatory, harassing, offensive, pornographic, fraudulent, or illegal content.



6. Use of Image

All winners give Supercent permission to use promotional materials and images related to their game to promote future competitions organized by Supercent.



7. Use of Data

By entering this competition, participants acknowledge that personal information such as name, email address or contact details will be stored and processed by Supercent for the purposes of organizing the competition. Participants may request access, correction or deletion of their personal information for legitimate reasons by contacting help@supercent.io.



8. Miscellaneous

  1. These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. 

  2. All disputes arising out of or in connection with the Contest shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court. 
  3. If any provision of these Terms is invalid, void or inoperative, the remaining provisions of these Terms will not be affected and will continue in full force and effect as if such provision had been deleted.
  4. By entering this Competition, you are waiving all claims of liability for any claims, losses, damages or injury that may arise out of your participation in this Competition against Supercent and the Competition Sponsors and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents. Supercent and the Sponsors shall not be liable with respect to any injury, loss or damage of any kind arising out of or resulting from the receipt, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
  5. Supercent and its Sponsors are not responsible for lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information. Supercent and its Sponsors are not responsible for any related computer or electronic malfunctions, server unavailability, technical failures or human error in connection with participation in this contest.
  6. Supercent reserves the right to amend these Competition Rules and to reschedule the aforementioned game competitions.
